The Backpacker policy provides affordable insurance cover for backpackers and those who plan to travel anywhere in the world for an extended period. Cover is available for trips of one month to a year. Also included is cover for working abroad and certain sports & activities. The Backpacker insurance is a single trip policy and cover will cease upon return to the UK.

| Emergency Assistance Service | Multi-lingual emergency assistance service provided 24 hours a day. Our medical assistance specialists deal direct with the hospital to ensure that you receive appropriate care, and to arrange the payment of any bills. | |
| Relative or Friend Assistance | Reasonable accommodation and travelling expenses for a friend or relative if you have to be accompanied home on medical advice. | |
| Dental Treatment | £200 | Emergency dental treatment for pain relief. |
| Additional Hospital Benefit | £1000 | A benefit of £20 for every 24 hours you spend in hospital as an in-patient abroad. |
| Baggage | £750 | Loss, theft or damage of your baggage. The limit for a single item is £150, whilst the total valuables limit is £200. Baggage claims are settled taking into account wear and tear and depreciation. |
| Cash & Documents | £200 | Loss or theft of cash (limit of £120), travel tickets, and passports, whilst being carried on your person. |
| Loss of Passport | £200 | Additional travel and accommodation expenses incurred to replace your lost passport. |
| Personal Liability | £1 million | Legal expenses and legal liability for damages which may be incurred if you accidentally injure somebody or damage their property. |

| Policy Excess | An excess of £50 applies to this policy, but you have the option to remove it. The excess will be deducted in the event of a claim. This applies to every incident and each insured person involved, but where one incident covers more than one section of the policy, only one excess will be applied. | |
