With Club Direct's winter sports travel insurance, multi-lingual medical assistance is just a telephone call away, 24 hours a day. You also have the extra safety of being covered on and off piste.
Helicopter recovery, mountain rescue and air ambulance are included as standard, so you can ski safe in the knowledge that you are fully covered if you suffer serious injury on the mountain. If you plan to go paragliding, we can provide additional extensions to the policy to cover you for this.
Skis and snowboards, whether your own or hired, are covered both on and off the mountain, as well as in transit. In addition to insuring you for any equipment which is lost, stolen or damaged, we also provide up to £300 for the hire of replacements while you're in the resort.
Club Direct's winter sports travel insurance also includes compensation for piste closure, as well as holiday cancellation due to lack of snow. We also cover you for other weather related risks, such as missed connections or extra accommodation expenses incurred because of an avalanche or sudden bad weather.
In addition to areas of the policy which are specific to skiing and snowboarding, our winter sports insurance also includes everything which you will find on our regular travel insurance policies.
Alternative options
Winter sports cover can, of course, be included on our annual travel insurance policies, so if you plan to take a summer holiday as well, these are often a good option. Our Prima 31 or Prima 60 annual travel insurance policies have options to include skiing or snowboarding holidays of up to 24 days per trip, as well as general worldwide or European travel for an unlimited number of trips of up to 31 or 60 days each during the year.
Couples and families
Family travel insurance policies include an unlimited number of children under the age of 18, including step and foster children. In addition, those under 23 are classed as children on family policies, if they are still in full-time education. Unmarried and same-sex couples are treated in exactly the same way as married couples, provided they have been living at the same residential address for the last 12 months.
What you need to tell us
To ensure that this travel insurance provides adequate cover, it is important that you tell us if you have any existing medical conditions. You must also tell us of any fact that is likely to influence us in the assessment or acceptance of this insurance. Failure to do so may mean that you have insufficient cover in the event of a claim.
Policy excess
In most cases, an excess of £50 applies to single trip policies. However, we do not apply it where claims are just for benefit payments - for example, for travel delay. Alternatively, you have the option to remove the excess, if you wish. For each claim, we only apply one excess per person, regardless of how many sections of the policy the claim covers.

Our single trip winter sports travel insurance policy has an age limit of 64 years. (Must have been a resident of the UK for the last 12 months).
